How to Control Your Anger and Finally Ditch Negative Emotions

Hypnosis Is the Ultimate Tool to Stop Anger From Ruling Your Life

Sometimes it’s the little things that set you off.

A car cuts you off on the freeway.

A stranger knocks into you, spilling coffee all over your white shirt.

You can’t concentrate at work because your cubicle neighbor is on personal calls all day.

These annoyances can ruin your day.

But when there’s deep-seated anger imprinted on your psyche, it can ruin your life.

That’s why you need coping skills to stop being angry.

Maybe the anger stems from a traumatic event from your childhood, a grudge from being passed over at work, or even regret about what you should have done.

It’s always with you and casts a pall over everything in your life.

You don’t have to live like that anymore.

Anger is a potent force, capable of both consuming and motivating us.

You can harness your anger and transform it into a catalyst for personal growth and empowerment.

Hypnosis, with its profound ability to tap into the depths of the subconscious mind, offers a transformative pathway to unlock the hidden potential within our emotions.

Why is anger so hard to control?

Anger, a visceral response to threats or injustices, that taps into primal instincts. It swiftly clouds rationality, flooding the body with adrenaline, and overriding self-control mechanisms. Its impulsive nature makes it a formidable force to tame, often leading to regrettable actions in the heat of the moment.

Road rage is the perfect example of this. The road is a high-stress environment with cars moving at accelerated speeds, often weaving aggressively down the highway. It’s easy to get swept up in highly charged emotions like anger and frustration when your safety is under threat. In the heat of the moment, rationale goes by the wayside, leading to impulsive and often dangerous behaviors on the road.

When sensing a threat to your physical or emotional well-being, the initial response is one of self-preservation. This primal urge kicks in and brings about fight, flight, or freeze responses. It’s a deeply ingrained survival mechanism essential for navigating challenging situations.

How hypnosis can help to overcome anger issues:

control emotions

“Let it go.”

That’s what well-meaning family and friends usually advise when it comes to dealing with anger.

If only it were that simple, right?

The burning, unshakeable anger you feel has a grip that tightens and suffocates you as the years go by.

So, of course, the logical course of action is to let it go. Say goodbye and let it float away into the ether.

Anger left alone can ’boil’ and cause more problems physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Bottling it up isn’t the solution, but using it as a starting point for something new is.

Hypnosis can help turn crippling emotional pain into motivation.

It helps you discover and understand your current emotional state and then transform it.  You learn to let go of the past and gain the freedom to make decisions for your future.

What causes emotional triggers?

As one has experiences in life, we attach feelings to them. If you hit the winning home run to help your high school team win the state championship, you have the emotion of joy attached to that memory. You’ll probably always enjoy watching baseball, even when you’re too old to play.

On the other hand, if you were attacked by a vicious dog as a child, I’m sure you would have feelings of fear and pain attached to that memory.

There was a girl who was attacked by a pit bull when she was five, and from then on, every time she saw a dog, she would go into a panic and try to get away. Even today, as an adult, she tenses up—even if she simply hears a dog bark. Now her conscious mind knows that not all dogs are mean and likely to attack. Yet that feeling attached to her attack is so strongly held in her subconscious that she won’t even go near a small dog.

That’s what’s commonly known as a “trigger.”  There is an emotional pain from the past that is sitting there waiting, something can trigger it in the present and you can feel the same pain as the past, even IF you thought you “let it go.”

Whether it is sadness, guilt, resentment, irritation, anger, or any other emotion that’s causing you to say things and do things you wouldn’t otherwise do or say, hypnosis is a natural way to explore the origins of why we feel the way we do.

Once you find the cause in your hypnosis session the hypnotist can guide you to the process of seeing the related event from a different perspective, and in doing so, transform the way you feel about the event.

How to reframe negative thoughts:

subconscious thoughts

The subconscious mind, a vast reservoir of memories and emotions, exerts a profound influence on our thoughts and behaviors. Hypnosis is unique in that it can reshape and reprogram the subconscious behaviors (anger is a behavior). Think of hypnosis as the ultimate chance to rewrite the well-worn scripts that play on a loop in your mind, replacing self-limiting beliefs with empowering beliefs and positive behaviors.

If someone is plagued by feelings of unworthiness and inadequacy, chances are these emotions can be traced back to their childhood. Whether it’s something that happened on the playground  or the projected beliefs of a parent, hypnosis allows these negative emotions to be challenged. An experienced hypnotist can shift the default perspective and replace it with thoughts of self-love, confidence, and worthiness.

Feel a natural inclination towards confidence

So the next time that person is in a situation that would usually trigger feelings of inadequacy, they’ll feel a natural inclination towards confidence and improved self-worth.

Hypnosis offers a natural and holistic approach to exploring the underlying causes of various emotions, including sadness, guilt, resentment, irritation, and anger. During hypnosis sessions, clients can explore the depths of their anger to uncover the underlying emotions and beliefs that fuel its flames. This can help shed light on unresolved conflicts and the long-held effects of trauma.

These stored emotions—or energy—can be transformed by shifting one’s perspective on the events that led to the anger. If you want to hear more about how that works, contact me.

Until then, here is a quick explanation.

The mind operates on two levels: the conscious and the subconscious. While the conscious mind analyzes, plans, and makes decisions, : ? the subconscious mind stores information, including habits, memories, and associated emotions. The subconscious mind can sometimes sabotage the intentions of the conscious mind, as past experiences project feelings onto the present.

Hypnosis offers a pathway to reframe these past experiences, freeing individuals from the grip of emotional triggers. By guiding clients through relaxation techniques, a trained hypnotist enables them to change their emotional responses to the same triggers going forward.

Through repetitive sessions, individuals can free themselves of  their subconscious patterns.

So, instead of someone going into panic at the mere sight of a dog, their subconscious is rewired to now have a positive association with dogs. And to use their natural instincts to let them know when a dog is truly vicious.

Hypnosis can help in a similar way when it comes to anger. It can help you shift your thinking about what is causing you to fly into a rage. The hypnotic state serves as a bridge between the conscious and subconscious realms, facilitating profound emotional healing and change.

Through relaxation techniques and suggestions tailored to specific concerns, hypnosis enables clients to navigate the turbulence that accompanies anger with grace. Rather than succumbing to its destructive impulses, individuals learn to channel the energy of anger into productive outlets that foster creativity, motivation, and personal growth.

After a session guided by a trained professional, clients emerge from the hypnotic state with a newfound sense of clarity, purpose, and empowerment.

You can use this newfound motivation to reclaim your life, your emotional responses, and your sanity. Best of all, this method of dealing with anger helps to avoid passing unhealthy habits relating to anger onto the next generation, keeping them free of these negative emotions.

How to be emotionally resilient

Emotional resilience, the ability to adapt and thrive in the face of adversity, is at the heart of personal growth.

Hypnosis helps to cultivate resilience by shifting one’s perspective on traditionally negative situations. By exploring the depths of their emotions in a safe and supportive environment, one can develop the inner strength necessary to overcome these emotions without letting them continue to rule their life.

It’s not just about the power of suggestion either.

While hypnosis can uncover the underlying causes of emotional distress, the practitioner can help a client develop coping mechanisms and relaxation techniques to manage their anger more effectively. As they integrate these tools into their daily lives, they experience a newfound sense of calm, clarity, and emotional well-being.

Their triggers no longer have power over them and they can go through life knowing that they are in control of how they respond.

How we do it:

Valerie Grimes Hypnotist

The Flow Center’s program has been helping people for decades who want to banish their negative thoughts and habits and transform their lives:

Journey deep into your subconscious: You’ll be guided into a deeply relaxed state that lets all other thoughts fall away so your mind can focus. This allows your subconscious to be more receptive to suggestion. The hypnotist will begin to unlock issues that have prevented you from experiencing self-acceptance and bring them to the surface.

Create new lovable habits for yourself: The hypnotist will then reprogram your old internal belief system and rewire it to accept self-love. This new “coding” will allow you to transform the way you see, respond, and attach meaning to your issues. Instead of the negative emotions and patterns you once had, you’ll be able to create new and lovable habits surrounding the way you see yourself.

Develop new positive and loving beliefs:  The voices in your head telling you that you’re not enough will be silenced. No more beating yourself up. Instead, you’ll have effortless kindness and respect for the amazing person you already are. You’ll be able to step confidently into new habits that celebrate all your strengths and see your old habits with more compassion as they depart from your life.

Imagine a future where it is all possible: You’ll be able to take more chances now that nothing is holding you back. Boldly embrace a new mindset where the opportunities open to you are endless. Nothing is beyond you. In fact, success is at the forefront of your mind.

Additionally, imagine a future where you break the cycle of negative thinking so your children don’t have to go through what you did.

See the benefits of self-love: The result is a gentle and effective ability to return to your natural love for yourself. It’s always been there, but it eroded over time when those negative beliefs crept in. Now that you’ve released those feelings, you have more space to allow your self-esteem to blossom.
