Hypnosis Diminishes Fears of Growing Old

Roger Simpson, HypnotistSeniors face many concerns in the autumn years.  New hypnosis programs are focused on making this phase of one’s life truly golden.

Roger Simpson, the Senior…Citizen Hypnotherapist at Flow Center for Hypnosis in Dallas announces new programs that address concerns of growing old.

Senior, or should I say, Seasoned Citizens have just as high a percentage of anxiety and other related issues as the general population. But, those issues and the triggers for those issues can be somewhat different than younger age groups.

For instance, anxiety over finances for younger people involve the knowledge that, whatever the financial blow to their earnings, investments, or savings, it can be reversed because they have the time and energy in their lives to still do something about it.

The same blow, to a Seasoned Citizen, seems and often is, more permanent. This can make what seems to be a moderate setback to someone younger, seem life-threatening to a Seasoned Citizen.

The upside is that a Seasoned Citizen has far more life experience that a younger person, and this is an advantage when it comes to the sub-conscious mind and how “it”, (which is really you) deals with it. A Seasoned Citizen has more instances of how little and how simple worries and fear and dread seem on the other side of a setback, after the recovery.

Why Hypnosis Works

This mental storehouse of positive results relating to the recovery, can be used to dwell on, rather than on dread and fear of the worst possible future. You see, your sub-conscious mind is like a crew of child-like minds, that will not question an order given by their Captain, the Conscious, Analytical, Waking Mind. If the sub-conscious believes what the conscious mind is telling them, then the “crew”, the sub-conscious mind will do everything in it’s power to “make it so.”

How Self Hypnosis Helps Now

So, if you are anxious or dreadful of the future, you can sit down for a few minutes, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths, relaxing your muscles on the exhalation, and reminisce about other times in your life when you had wonderful recoveries from seemingly serious blows to you or your household.

If you have no good experiences or cannot think of any, make something up. The sub-conscious mind is totally gullible and cannot tell the difference between lies and truth.

Or, just start being thankful, grateful or appreciative of things in your life. Like, “I live in America, land of relative abundance. I have wonderful grandchildren that think I’m pretty special. I’m relatively pain-free. I have a roof over my head. I have enough to eat. This puts me ahead of 90% of the world’s population.”

The mind, consciousness of any kind, is a wonderful, wondrous, thing, when you really are conscious of it. We can ponder our own ponderings. Animals can’t, rocks can’t, and so on. The “you” that is using your (hopefully) two organic cameras and ‘wiring’ to transmit images to your mind, to be reassembled and recognized and integrated, instant to instant, and stored forever along with sounds and smells and emotions that go along with those images; the “you” that is looking out from behind your eyes is a unique and wonderful phenomenon in this universe. Your issues are there, but your answers are also there and that’s just amazing.
